Everton boss Marco Silva has said that he has no concerns with the ongoing speculation linking Idrissa Gueye with a probable move to Manchester United. The Senegal international has been the standout performer in the Toffees midfield for the past few seasons and his consistency has supposedly caught the attention of several European clubs including Manchester United.
Gueye had been hotly tipped to join Paris Saint-Germain during the closing stages of the winter transfer window, but the Toffees board made it clear that he won’t be joining the French champions. Thereafter, the midfielder has instantly been integrated into the squad, where he has produced a number of standout displays, but there remain concerns whether he would remain at the club beyond the summer.
In a recent interview with L’Equipe, Gueye suggested that he still has the ambition of joining a top European club capable of winning trophies and this could urge him to push for a potential exit when the transfer window reopens. Manchester United are currently leading the race to sign the former Lille man with the future of Ander Herrera uncertain beyond the campaign.
The Red Devils have been in a contract standoff with Herrera over the past year or so, and the midfielder’s future seems to have made the decision to leave the club on a free transfer when his current deal expires during the summer. Paris Saint-Germain are regarded as favourites to acquire his signature.
