YOBO EXITS
Everton manager David Moyes is likely to increase his efforts to sign the Inter Milan player Luc Castaignos after he has secured new transfer funds following the exit of defender Joseph Yobo.
The Nigerian international has been part of the Everton setup in the last few seasons and will be a major miss after he recently completed his move to Turkish club Fenerbache. The two clubs have agreed an undisclosed fee for the defender, who has not been getting regular first team action in the last couple of seasons. Prior to the arrival of players like Distin, Joseph Yobo was a regular for the bulk of Everton fixtures.
Due to the fact that Everton struggled to score goals last season, it is understood that the manager has made it a priority to sign a young and fresh talent before the end of the transfer window. With only a few weeks of the transfer window remaining, Everton have been linked with the Inter Milan striker Luc Castaignos. The 19-year-old has drawn attention from some of the biggest clubs in the world, but it is thought that he will be favouring a move to Everton in order to get regular first-team football.
“I would love to thank Everton and the management of Fenerbahce for reaching a deal. My family have settled well in Turkey and enjoy the life there, so I’m glad they will be re-uniting with friends here. The permanent switch is done and I am also switching to help the team do well on the pitch. It’s been a long journey into achieving this dream and now is the time to pay the club and fans back with a great performance,” said the former Everton defender Joseph Yobo after announcing his departure from the club. Everton will be facing Manchester United on the opening day of the season.
